We celebrated the reopening of our church building to the public on Tuesday, June 1st!

We are following guidelines of the state of Ohio and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you are fully vaccinated, facial coverings are optional. The CDC advises individuals who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing a facial covering. Wash your hands frequently. Practice Social Distancing – keep six feet apart while in the church building.

The Church of the Covenant is a diverse congregation in the vibrant cultural center of University Circle in Cleveland, Ohio.

Convinced of God’s grace, the Church of the Covenant seeks to: Be a welcoming spiritual home, Live God’s inclusive love, Express Christ’s compassion, Do justice in the world. We are seeking to know Jesus and make him known through meaningful worship, inspiring music, compassionate outreach, and in-depth theological study that leads us to engage our community and our world that God so loves.

Though the pandemic has limited our ability to gather together, we are still actively nourishing our faith community through many remote activities that you can join: Virtual Worship Services, Zoom Fellowship Events, Christian Education for All Ages, Adult Forum Study, Woman’s Bible Study, Children and Youth Education, Virtual Music Rehearsals and Recorded Performances, The Covenant Choir, The Beckwith Handbell Choir, Children’s Choir, and Carillon Concerts, to name a few.

If you would like to connect directly with our interim transitional pastor Rev. Bill Hudson, click HERE or call the church office at 216-421-0482.

Testimonials

  • I came to know Covenant through Reverend Jonyrma, a previous pastor. I got to know her when I was away at school, and began visiting Covenant on breaks. I got married here and joined in 2003. While we visited many churches over the years, Covenant matches best with our ideology. We so appreciate the welcoming spirit. My family feels at home here, and enjoys being involved in family activities and youth ministries.

  • Born into the Church of the Covenant (my father grew up here; my mother was a soprano soloist while a student at Flora Stone Mather; my parents were married at Covenant; I was baptized by Dr. Phillip Smead Bird), my lifelong participation in the music program has been a huge part of my spiritual life. I was a bell ringer in the first bell choir, a singer in the junior choirs, and I’m now in my forty-fifth year in the Covenant Choir. I have a deep love of this church where we also raised our children. I appreciate Covenant’s members, music program, organs, architecture and its elegance, and will continue to support this church as long as I am able.

  • Baptized at Covenant, I was involved from day one. The beautiful music, intellectual and thought-provoking sermons, opportunity for community involvement, and lifelong friendships keep me returning every week. I especially appreciate how active the Covenant is in the fight for social justice and equality, providing a platform for discussion, involvement in social issues, and a place of peace to pray for resolution on such matters. There is something for everyone.
